The estranged lovers reconciled for Easter with their three-year-old children Monroe and Moroccan.
But Nick Cannon has now said that he would ‘never say never’ to getting back together with wife Mariah Carey.
The 34-year-old actor, who filed for divorce in December 2014 after six years of marriage, was filmed telling TMZ that the door is not yet closed on their relationship.
In the video, shot when the rap artist left Baltaire in Brentwood on Monday night, Nick is asked for his best love advice, to which he replies: ‘Just go for it, love hard.’
Then, when questioned on reuniting with musician Mariah, Nick says: ‘Um, yeah, you can never say never,’ as he hops into a waiting car with security staff.
It was Nick who filed the divorce papers on December 12 and he seemingly ignored her attempts to block a tell-all book about their relationship earlier this year.
Simon & Schuster confirmed to MailOnline that the book is being published by Gallery Books, an imprint of the high-powered publisher.
He was thought to feel put out that she rejected his numerous demands for a $30 million divorce settlement, so he is writing the book to get a payday for being married to the star, a friend told MailOnline.
Mariah and Nick appeared to have put their woes behind them two weeks ago when they plotted an Easter hunt for their twins.
Mariah was cherishing some precious family time as she gets to set for her Las Vegas residency in the coming months.
Nick and Mariah – born in 2011 – are likely to reunite at the end of this month when their twins turn four years old.
There have also been reports that each party is attached to new love interests since the 2014 marital split.
