Beautiful Nollywood actress, singer and writer, Keira Hewatch is set to return to our screens in a blockbuster movie set for release soon.
Keira Hewatch who is best known for her role as ‘Keche’ in the movie; Two Brides and a Baby, as well as her role as ‘Peace Nwosu’ in the television series; Lekki Wives made a return to action in a new movie with Nollywood hunk, Bolanle Ninalowo.
The movie which is set for release soon was directed by the talented and creative Micheal Jaja.
It is important to note that Keira Hewatch won the Best of Nollywood award (BON) for ‘Best Breakout Performance’ in 2011 and has been nominated twice for the Golden Icon Academy Awards (GIAMA). This new movie is yet another platform to see the dexterous actress showcase her finesse.
Keira, who bears a striking semblance to fellow Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson in physical appearance and acting skills had her first break in the television series Cross Roads produced by Emeka Ossai. In 2010 she starred as the lead in the first science fiction/futuristic film, Kajola, directed by Niyi Akinmolayan which also starred Desmond Elliot. The film however received low ratings in Nigerian cinemas. In 2011, Keira went on to star as ‘Keche’ , the lead role, in Two Brides and a Baby alongside OC Ukeje, Stella Damasus-Aboderin, Chelsea Eze and Okey Uzoeshi. She has since gone on to feature consistently in other great movies and series, Lekki Wives being most notable.
Keira Hewatch attributes her flair for acting to having come from being inspired by the children of The Sound of Music after watching it for the first time at the age of 5.
Keira was born in Calabar, Cross River State. Her family relocated to Ghana in 2005, where she attended the Graduate school of management Studies to study Travel and Tourism and Hospitality Management. She completed her certification exams in 2006 and decided to pursue her passion for acting.
She spent a year in Ghana trying to break into the entertainment industry to no avail, as most of the roles involved speaking the local dialect. In 2007, she returned to Nigeria, to continue pursuing her passion for acting.
She is one of the brightest talents in the Nigerian movie industry and definitely one to follow closely.
