Serving in Benin City, I fell in love with the culture and my yearning for an inter-tribal marriage took me to Osasuyi.
For a long time, I had always wanted an inter-tribal marriage, and fortune brought Osasuyi to me. We met on Facebook, and became friends in the rarest of circumstances.
I got a friend request from a pretty and innocent looking damsel whom had taken me for someone she knew. I accepted her request without having to debate it in my head. We chatted with her and the sentence from her which closed our chat that first day was “God bless you sir”. This captivated me and I said to myself, “this must be the woman I need in my life” . I immediately started working towards that.
I must confess, it wasn’t an easy task. Osasuyi kept turning down my proposals without a word, even though we were best of friends. We were so close, people were already taking us for lovers.
On April 2014 precisely, I went to Benin for her cousin’s wedding. I had earlier discussed with some friends on how to go about proposing to her; and eventually went with my friend, Sanjay’s plan.
I took her on a date to Chicken Republic at Airport Road and had kept the engagement ring secretly. I patiently waited for her to look outside the door, for me to place the ring in a nice position on the chair. She sat and felt something strange, she looked and behold! It was what she never expected. Being a dramatist, I was ready to act plenty drama if she refused to say a word to my proposal yet again. I didn’t mind whatever her response would be, Yes or No, I just wanted a response. So I went on my knees and popped the question, “Are u ready to be with me on this journey to the future of greatness?”.
She simply nodded and said in affirmative “Yes, I will!”
That day marked the turning point in our relationship. We became better and sweeter in love.
She understands everything I mean even before I speak and I understand all she can do and will not do. Above all, her personality reminds me always of the existence of virtuous women
Contrary to popular belief that you can’t or will hardly find a responsible relationship on social media, I got the best woman whom I will be walking down the aisle with in a couple of weeks.
I am indeed glad that I could fulfill my yearnings for inter-tribal marriage with the best woman I could ever have – Osasuyi.
