Adekunle Gold No Forget

Adekunle Gold’s “No Forget” is a song of comfort for hustlers in love.

Adekunle Gold is known as one of the best alternative musicians in Nigeria right now. And his chemistry with popular singer, Simi has not gone unnoticed; in the studio and out of it. Rumour has it that the duo are in a relationship. They have a habit of avoiding that rumour though. The track “No Forget” off Adekunle’s album “GOLD” however goes a long way to make a statement. They team up to do this song which tells a powerful story. A story which provides comfort for hustlers in love.

The track, which is a love ballad, tells a story of two lovers. The guy being a hustler who’s in love with a girl from a more grounded and well-to-do family. She has a mother who would rather have her marry someone on an equal social status or higher, instead of an ‘I never chop’ guy.

Simi, who plays the girl in the music video, is however not giving up on Adekunle Gold, playing the boy. He tells her it would be difficult to convince her mother if he doesn’t go out to make something for himself. It’s a difficult decision for both of them, as he would have to go in search of greener pastures; leaving her behind to so many possibilities.

Both lovers are then left with ‘trust’ as their only weapons as they prepare for life apart from each other. Hence, the song, which is a promise to stay faithful to each other in the time they would be apart.
